Specifications and product support#

Some standards require a licence. Some vendor APIs require a partner account, a product licence or a particular firmware version. Public summaries cannot establish details that are available only in those documents.

A new specification does not update installed products. Check the product release notes, capability response and conformance record for the version in use.

Examples#

The sample JSON contracts use synthetic identities. They are examples for your own integration and are not undocumented vendor APIs. ONVIF and Modbus examples state the supported operations and transport limits on their pages.

The tests do not cover every operating system, firmware, authentication method, proxy, gateway or load condition. Review the example scope before adapting it. Physical actuation, alarm acknowledgement and changes to access permissions are outside the sample programs.

Site decisions#

Networking, power, retention and resilience calculations need measurements from the installation. Wiring, fire interfaces, emergency release, privacy and retention obligations depend on the jurisdiction and approved design. Use the applicable professional advice and site procedures.
